Estate Assistant – Grounds Maintenance (Full‑time Temp)

About the role

The Estate Assistant will deliver high‑quality cleaning and grounds maintenance for a large housing provider across multiple sites in Brighton. You will ensure gardens, communal areas and external spaces are kept to agreed standards while providing a professional, customer‑focused service.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain gardens, lawns, shrubbery and other communal areas to required standards.
• Perform estate cleaning tasks and ensure all equipment is used safely.
• Report repairs, fly‑tipping, graffiti and any safeguarding concerns to the appropriate teams.
• Follow Health & Safety, COSHH and PPE procedures and keep records of work and costs.
• Keep company vehicles clean, road‑worthy and compliant.
• Interact with residents and customers on site, delivering excellent service.

Required profile

• Proven experience in grounds maintenance across a variety of sites and garden types.
• Knowledge of lawn, shrub and plant care.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical capability to carry out manual tasks safely.
• Full, clean driving licence.
