Estates Services Technician – Plumbing (North)

About the role

The Estates Services Technician (North – Plumbing) will deliver a multi‑skilled maintenance service across Pennine Care’s hospitals and community sites, with a primary focus on high‑quality plumbing. You will lead complex diagnoses and repairs, support a safe environment, and mentor apprentices and T‑level students.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex plumbing diagnoses, repairs and maintenance across inpatient and non‑inpatient Trust sites.
• Provide advice on equipment issues, risks and compliance with NHS estates standards.
• Deliver minor electrical and joinery services as part of a multi‑skilled maintenance team.
• Support and train new apprentices and T‑level students through on‑the‑job guidance and shadowing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, research activities and health & safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Fully qualified plumber with experience in a healthcare or similar environment.
• Competent in delivering minor electrical and joinery tasks.
• Ability to work across multiple sites in Greater Manchester.
• Commitment to NHS values and to supporting vulnerable service users.
