Estimating Engineer

About the role

Join a leading specialist in bespoke low‑voltage solutions as an Estimating Engineer. You will be responsible for producing accurate, commercially viable quotations for electrical and switchgear projects, supporting the delivery of a diverse project portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour and overheads for electrical and switchgear projects.
• Analyse technical drawings and specifications to interpret customer requirements.
• Prepare competitive quotations and tender submissions.
• Identify cost‑effective strategies and contribute to risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering and project management teams to ensure smooth handovers.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, quotations and customer interactions.
• Manage multiple quotations and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in estimating, costing or engineering within a technical environment.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
