Estimator – Construction Cost & Tender Specialist

About the role

This hybrid position is based in Warrington and supports a fast‑growing Northwest contractor specialising in social housing, retrofit and renewable energy solutions. Reporting directly to the Head of Estimating, you will help secure new projects by preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing submissions for remediation and retrofit projects.
• Assist in the creation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost breakdowns.
• Support the two‑stage tender process from initial pricing through final submission.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations.
• Identify commercial risks and build rates from first principles when required.
• Attend site visits and pre‑tender meetings to gather information.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an estimator within construction, preferably in social housing or retrofit.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience preparing BOQs and cost plans.
• Strong numerical and commercial awareness.
• Knowledge of two‑stage tendering processes.
