Estimator – Construction Projects

About the role

Our client, a well‑established construction business, is looking for an experienced Estimator to join their pre‑construction team. You will be responsible for preparing, managing and submitting competitive tenders across a variety of sectors, including commercial, education, heritage and refurbishment projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full estimating process from initial enquiry to final handover.
• Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications to define project scope and pricing.
• Coordinate tender requirements with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Complete detailed quantity take‑offs and prepare cost estimates using labour, plant, material and subcontractor pricing.
• Obtain, review and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Develop pricing strategies, cost plans and value‑engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with the bid team on design‑and‑build submissions and support digital estimating tools such as BIM and 5D cost planning.
• Present tenders for internal review and support post‑tender negotiations and handovers.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry.
• Ability to interpret tender documents, drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical and commercial awareness.
• Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate submissions.
