Estimator – Customer‑Facing Sales Role

About the role

The Estimator will join a growing team in South Cambridge, providing accurate quotations and identifying cross‑selling opportunities for trade customers. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will play a central part in delivering excellent customer service and supporting the sales process.

Key responsibilities

• Handle inbound enquiries by telephone and email, delivering timely and accurate quotations.
• Identify and act on cross‑selling opportunities within each enquiry.
• Support the sales team with overflow call handling and order processing during busy periods.
• Follow up on quotations that have not converted, contacting customers to progress opportunities.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of quotation activity and customer notes in the company system.
• Send samples and product information to customers as required.
• Attend internal product and sales meetings to stay current with the product range.
• Build product knowledge over time to handle technical enquiries confidently.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a customer‑facing sales role.
• Strong telephone manner and written communication skills.
• Proactive approach to quotation follow‑up and customer development.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively within a small team.
• Own transport for commuting to the rural location.
