Estimator - Large Work Projects - Construction

About the role

Our client, a leading building contractor based in Verwood, is seeking an experienced Estimator to support large‑scale construction projects across the corporate, commercial and public sectors. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost proposals and supporting the bid process from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings, taking detailed measurements for tender packages.
• Obtain and collate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers within required timeframes.
• Prepare comprehensive price lists covering materials, labour, and preliminaries.
• Calculate total costs for each tender scope and compile submission documents.
• Present bids to clients and address queries during and after the tender process.
• Attend client meetings and site visits, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide estimating expertise during project, commercial and negotiation meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in estimating for large construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of the building industry and construction processes.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise multiple demands and meet tight deadlines.
