About the role
We are seeking an Estimator to join a well‑established provider of track, civil engineering, construction and maintenance services for the rail industry. The successful candidate will produce accurate cost estimates for a variety of railway and infrastructure projects, supporting the bid and delivery process.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and submit competitive cost estimates for rail, civil engineering and construction projects.
- Develop sub‑contractor inquiries, analyse responses and negotiate pricing.
- Analyse historical data, drawings and specifications to forecast project expenses.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers and procurement teams to align estimates with project deliverables.
Required profile
- Experience in civil engineering, railway infrastructure or general construction.
- Strong commercial awareness, including knowledge of contracts such as NEC3 and profit margin analysis.
Required skills
- Proficiency with cost estimating software.
- Competence in CAD/BIM tools.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
