European Support Group Facilities Manager

About the role

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead hard and soft facilities management for the European Support Group (ESG) at SHAPE Mons. You will act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, suppliers and host‑nation partners, ensuring safe, compliant and cost‑effective delivery of infrastructure services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of hard and soft facilities management across designated ESG areas.
• Manage stakeholder, supplier and host‑nation interfaces, providing clear and rapid communication.
• Exercise commercial and financial control over ESG facilities works, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Assist the Head FM in developing the Command Infrastructure Delivery Plan and supporting end‑user infrastructure from concept to practical completion.
• Oversee inspection and assurance of all FM works to meet specifications and value‑for‑money criteria.
• Implement and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS) and act as ESG point of contact for continuous improvement.
• Review and advise on asbestos and legionella management plans, conduct SHEF audits, and manage incident reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities management within a large, multi‑stakeholder environment.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, with ability to develop budgets and forecasts.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of health, safety, environmental and fire regulations relevant to defence infrastructure.
