Evening/Weekend Support Worker

About the role

We are looking for an Evening/Weekend Support Worker to provide compassionate, one‑to‑one care for children and young people facing mental health challenges in Carlisle. The role focuses on evenings and weekends, offering flexible shifts that fit personal commitments while delivering essential support to families.

Key responsibilities

• Implement individualised care plans tailored to each child’s mental health needs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with families, multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment during evenings and weekends, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
• Record accurate, timely care notes and progress reports.
• Respond promptly to emotional and practical needs of children and their families.

Required profile

• At least 6 months paid UK experience in children’s mental health or residential childcare.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Availability for evening shifts and a minimum of 8 hours over the weekend.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
