Examiner – GCE A Level Physics (2016 Specification)

About the role

Pearson is seeking qualified individuals to act as examiners for the GCE A Level Physics (2016 Specification). The role involves marking candidates' responses against a predefined mark scheme, primarily using the ePEN digital platform from the comfort of your home.

Key responsibilities

• Mark A Level Physics scripts accurately and consistently to maintain overall standards.
• Submit sample scripts to the Team Leader according to the schedule.
• Adhere to marking milestones and deadlines.
• Complete all required administrative tasks as specified.
• Participate in mandatory training sessions between May and June.

Required profile

• At least one academic year of recent teaching experience (within the last 8 years) at A Level or equivalent.
• A degree in Physics or a closely related subject; if the degree is in another discipline, a minimum of three years teaching A Level Physics is required.
• Qualified teacher status or equivalent teaching experience; retired teachers with extensive expertise are also welcome.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• High level of subject knowledge in A Level Physics to apply the mark scheme effectively.
