Executive Director – Hospital Leadership Role

About the role

The Executive Director will provide strategic direction and leadership for Beardwood Hospital, a key facility within Circle Health Group. Reporting to senior Group leadership, you will mentor the management team and ensure the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care while driving financial and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Set and execute the hospital’s strategic plan in line with Group objectives.
• Oversee clinical and non‑clinical operations to maintain a safe, high‑quality environment.
• Develop and manage operational and capital budgets, monitoring financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulatory requirements and health‑funding frameworks.
• Lead HR functions including recruitment, retention, and staff development.
• Implement risk‑management processes and drive continuous improvement.
• Foster a culture of change, innovation, and excellent patient experience.

Required profile

• Degree‑level education or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
• Strong understanding of current health‑industry issues, private/public funding and regulatory landscape.
• Proven leadership experience in a commercial or healthcare environment, preferably at senior management level.
• Demonstrated ability to lead organisational change and motivate teams.
• Experience in budgeting, financial analysis and risk management.
• Excellent HR management capabilities.
