Executive Director of Education

About the role

The Executive Director of Education will lead Newcastle Anglican’s network of four Anglican schools and associated early learning services. Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, this senior position shapes strategic direction, drives educational excellence and unifies a historically decentralized portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Set and oversee the strategic vision for the school portfolio, ensuring high standards of academic achievement and continuous improvement.
• Align structures, operating models, governance and reporting across all schools to create a cohesive system.
• Partner with school Principals to strengthen leadership capability, accountability and collaborative practices.
• Provide oversight of curriculum delivery, educational outcomes and performance monitoring.
• Lead the transition toward a consistent, integrated framework that supports sustainable growth.

Required profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in education, preferably within multi‑school or faith‑based environments.
• Strong credibility and strategic judgement with the ability to influence autonomous school leaders.
• Demonstrated success in driving system‑wide alignment and performance accountability.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with principals, executive team and diocesan leadership.
