Experienced Accountant – Small Practice

About the role

We are a well‑established, friendly accountancy practice looking for an experienced Accountant to join our growing team. You will work in a small‑practice environment, handling a varied portfolio of clients and playing a key role in delivering high‑quality accounting and tax services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Assist with audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Prepare and submit corporation tax and personal tax returns.
• Manage a portfolio of clients and act as the primary point of contact.
• Provide general accounting and business advice to clients.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
• Proven experience in a small or medium‑sized accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation for companies and sole traders.
• Audit experience is desirable.
• Good working knowledge of accounting software such as Xero or Sage.
• Excellent communication and client‑management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
