Experienced Carpenter – First & Second Fix

About the role

We are seeking an experienced carpenter to join a well‑established, family‑run building contractor in Ely. The role involves both first‑fix and second‑fix carpentry on a variety of domestic and commercial projects, delivering high‑quality workmanship in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out first‑fix and second‑fix carpentry across residential and commercial sites.
• Install doors, staircases, windows and bespoke joinery to a high standard.
• Complete renovation, refurbishment and planned maintenance works.
• Interpret technical drawings and resolve on‑site issues as they arise.
• Maintain excellent standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

Required profile

• Proven experience in first‑fix and second‑fix carpentry.
• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry (or equivalent).
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a close‑knit team.
• High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
