Experienced CNC Mill‑Turn Machinist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill‑Turn Machinist to join a long‑established precision engineering manufacturer in Stockport. The role involves setting up, operating and optimizing CNC mill‑turn centres to produce complex components to exacting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mill‑turn machines, including programming, editing and proving out jobs.
• Produce components according to engineering drawings and quality specifications.
• Perform self‑inspection throughout the machining process and ensure tolerance compliance.
• Optimise tooling, speeds and feeds for efficient production.
• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance on equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in CNC machining.
• Proficient at interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, team‑focused attitude.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and committed to quality output.

Required skills

• CNC mill‑turn machining (setting, operating, editing, proving out programs).
• Fanuc CNC controls and mill‑turn centres.
• Use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers and verniers.
• Understanding of tolerances, multi‑axis operations and machining principles.
