Experienced Linesperson – Electrical Distribution

About the role

SSEN is seeking qualified, experienced Linespersons to join its Southern Electric Power Distribution team across multiple locations in the UK. This is a permanent, full‑time position offering flexible working patterns and the chance to contribute directly to the reliability of the national electricity network.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out construction, maintenance and repair work on LV, 11kV and 33kV overhead networks.
• Respond quickly to emergency outages, storm damage and standby duties, working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ensure personal and team safety, promoting a strong safety culture at all times.
• Operate and maintain electrical plant and equipment in accordance with industry standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an electrical Linesperson in the DNO sector (UK or overseas).
• Recognised overhead line qualifications covering LV, HV, 11kV and 33kV; live‑line (11kV) training is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated track record in construction, repair and operation of electrical assets.
• High commitment to safety, strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Full UK driving licence.
