Experienced Multiskilled Bricklayer – Temporary Full‑time

About the role

Bury Council is seeking an experienced multiskilled Bricklayer for a 2‑3 month temporary assignment. The role involves delivering high‑quality brickwork, masonry repairs and related tasks in both occupied and void properties across Greater Manchester.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out bricklaying, blockwork and stonework repairs to walls, chimneys, garden walls and structural masonry.
• Repoint brickwork, including full‑height elevations, chimneys and isolated sections.
• Repair defective masonry by cutting out and rebuilding damaged areas.
• Perform groundwork tasks such as small concrete pads, paths, steps and minor reinstatement work.
• Repair and rebuild retaining walls, boundary walls and external brick structures.
• Complete multiskilling duties including plaster patching, rendering, basic joinery and basic exterior painting.
• Accurately complete work orders and request materials digitally, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bricklaying and general multiskilled repairs.
• Competent in using a tablet to update jobs and order materials.
• Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points).
• Own battery‑powered tools.
• Strong customer service skills, especially when working in tenants’ homes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
