Experienced Secondary Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Secondary Teaching Assistant to join inclusive secondary schools in Haringey from September 2026. You will support students academically, socially and emotionally across Key Stages 3 and 4, working closely with teachers and pastoral teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support individual pupils, small groups or whole classes in a range of subjects.
• Deliver targeted interventions to improve attainment and progress.
• Assist students with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement during lessons.
• Collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to support students with varying learning needs.
• Calm, resilient and proactive approach to behaviour management.
• Passion for helping young people succeed.
