Experienced Social Worker

About the role

Join Kent County Council’s South Kent Children with Disabilities team as an Experienced Social Worker. You will manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities, supporting them and their families to achieve independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, monitor and review support needs for service users aged 0‑25.
• Develop person‑centred support packages, including direct payments, community resources and commissioned services.
• Cost support packages and ensure they fit within budget and strategic frameworks.
• Provide advocacy to empower service users in decision‑making.
• Identify and manage safeguarding and quality‑of‑care issues, escalating as required.
• Collaborate with multi‑agency partners to deliver comprehensive support.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker with experience working with children and young people with disabilities.
• Strong understanding of statutory requirements, eligibility criteria and national legislation.
• Ability to work under supervision and follow designated policies and procedures.
• Commitment to person‑centred practice and empowerment of service users.
