Experienced Traffic Operator – 4 on / 4 off

About the role

Join Maritime Transport’s Milton Keynes depot as an Experienced Traffic Operator. After an 8‑week training programme you will move onto a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern, supporting container movements across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate multiple drivers and communicate with ports.
• Book delivery slots and manage entry times at ports.
• Record driver start and finish times using the TOPS transport system.
• Chase drivers for ETAs, ensure punctuality and reroute jobs when required.
• Match proof‑of‑delivery documents to the correct jobs in the system.
• Inform customers of potential delays and provide updated ETAs.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Transport Operator (essential).
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern.
• Excellent UK geographical knowledge.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems quickly and stay organised.
• Flexibility to meet business demands.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the TOPS transport system.
