Express Store Manager – Retail Leadership Role

About the role

As an Express Store Manager at Asda Express, you will lead a small team to drive sales, uphold store standards and deliver key performance indicators. You will motivate staff, maintain morale and create an environment that encourages repeat customers while supporting Asda’s pricing strategy and cost‑control objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of colleagues to achieve sales targets.
• Maintain high store standards and ensure excellent customer experience.
• Manage rota planning, holidays and staffing levels, including weekends, evenings and occasional late nights.
• Handle employee relations matters such as disciplinary actions and grievances.
• Monitor and control store costs, supporting Asda’s pricing and profitability goals.
• Analyse performance data and implement actions to meet KRAs.

Required profile

• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, change‑driven retail environment.
• Friendly, proactive and able to get involved hands‑on with the team.
• Strong leadership, people‑management and coaching abilities.
• Capable of handling management issues professionally.
• Effective at rota and holiday planning.
