Exterior Designer

About the role

General Motors Europe is seeking a highly creative Exterior Designer to join its global design studio. You will work on innovative exterior concepts for automotive and mobility products, turning ideas from sketch to production across multiple GM brands.

Key responsibilities

• Create fresh, innovative exterior designs for GM‑branded vehicles and related products using electronic design tools.
• Develop 2D sketches, perspective renderings and 3D mock‑ups that clearly communicate design intent.
• Collaborate with engineers, modelers, other designers and external suppliers throughout the design process.
• Follow projects from initial concept through to final clay model release.
• Present design proposals effectively both verbally and visually to cross‑functional partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Design or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in exterior design or a similar role.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating innovative automotive exterior concepts.
• Excellent visualisation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic design tools for 2D and 3D visualisation.
