External Sales Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious External Sales Engineer to manage and grow an established territory across the South West. You will combine technical expertise with a commercial mindset to deliver engineering solutions, build lasting customer relationships and drive revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop an existing customer base throughout the South West region.
• Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities.
• Visit client sites to provide technical advice and recommend product solutions.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms and close sales.
• Collaborate closely with internal sales and engineering teams to ensure high‑quality service.
• Gather market intelligence and support broader business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Background in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Proven experience in external, technical or field sales within an engineering environment.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive, commercially driven attitude.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South West.
• Residency within commuting distance of Bristol.
