EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Primary School

About the role

We are looking for a qualified EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Barking and Dagenham. The role is permanent, full‑time and involves supporting children in the Nursery or Reception setting, helping them develop communication, social and early learning skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher and EYFS team in delivering high‑quality early years education.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions to support reading, phonics, language and numeracy.
• Plan and deliver engaging learning activities that promote independence and positive behaviour.
• Complete observations and contribute to each child’s learning record.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and the wider school team to ensure consistent support.

Required profile

• Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience working within an EYFS setting.
• Good understanding of the EYFS Framework.
• GCSE English & Maths (grade C/4 or above).
• Enthusiastic, caring and proactive attitude.

Required skills

• Knowledge of phonics and early‑intervention programmes.
