EYFS Teaching Assistant – Full‑time (Preston)

About the role

We are looking for a nurturing Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Preston from September. The role supports pupils in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and works alongside the class teacher and the wider Early Years team. It is a full‑time, on‑site position offering a supportive environment for professional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, creative learning activities for EYFS children.
• Support children’s social, emotional and educational development.
• Help maintain a safe, positive and stimulating learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with the Early Years team to implement the EYFS framework.
• Provide additional support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and other learning needs.

Required profile

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
• Previous experience in a school setting (desirable).
• Experience supporting children with SEN and additional learning needs.
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
• Patient, caring and enthusiastic about early years education.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills with children and staff.
