EYFS Teaching Assistant – Full‑time Temporary Role in Leeds

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Leeds for the upcoming academic year. The role focuses on supporting young children’s social, emotional and developmental needs within the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering the EYFS and KS1 curriculum.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to children, fostering confidence and independence.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor and record children’s progress.
• Support pupils with special educational needs where required.

Required profile

• Graduated with a degree in EYFS or a related early years qualification.
• Previous experience working with children in an early years setting.
• Understanding of safeguarding policies and willingness to undergo required checks.
• Positive attitude, reliability and a genuine passion for early childhood education.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum.
