EYFS Teaching Assistant (Level 3)

About the role

A welcoming primary school in Claygate is looking for a Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join the Early Years team as soon as possible. You will support children in Nursery and Reception, delivering play‑based learning in line with the EYFS framework.

Key responsibilities

• Support children across Nursery and Reception settings.
• Deliver engaging, play‑based activities that meet EYFS standards.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance where needed.
• Assist with early phonics, language development and social skills.
• Help maintain a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (essential).
• Previous experience working in an EYFS setting.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
• Positive, patient and nurturing attitude.
• Reliable, proactive and a strong team player.

Required skills

• Knowledge of EYFS framework and early years pedagogy.
• Ability to support phonics and language development.
• Experience delivering play‑based learning.
