EYFS Teaching Assistant – Preston – Start September 2026

About the role
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Early Years practitioner to join a welcoming primary school in Preston. This full‑time, long‑term position starts in September 2026 and supports children at the very beginning of their educational journey.
Key responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, play‑based EYFS learning.
- Work with small groups and individual pupils to foster early development.
- Encourage communication, social interaction, and early literacy/numeracy skills.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Support pupils' personal, social, and emotional development.
- Observe and provide feedback on pupil progress where required.
Required profile
- Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working within EYFS settings (school or nursery).
- Patient, caring and enthusiastic about supporting young children.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Professional references and legal right to work in the UK.
