Fabric Engineer – Maintenance & Repairs

About the role

ABM is seeking a Fabric Engineer to deliver essential maintenance and repair services across the London Fire Brigade estate. You will work on‑site, ensuring health and safety compliance while providing a wide range of building‑fabric trades support.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs in mechanical, electrical and building fabric trades.
• Conduct fire‑door inspections to SFG20 standards and produce accurate quotes.
• Complete paperwork, obtain customer signatures and ensure timely invoicing.
• Identify lifecycle replacement needs and record details on engineer worksheets.
• Carry out locksmith, tiling, glazing, plastering, painting, carpentry and general handyman tasks.

Required profile

• Experience in carpentry, painting/plastering and locksmith work.
• Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., plumbing, mechanical) are advantageous.
• Ability to follow health & safety policies, method statements and risk assessments.
