Fabrication & Welding Lecturer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced fabrication and welding professional to join our team as a Lecturer in Barrow-in-Furness. You will deliver both practical and theoretical training to students pursuing Level 1‑3 EAL qualifications and engineering apprenticeships, helping them develop the skills needed for industry success.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality practical fabrication and welding sessions in fully equipped workshops.
• Teach the theoretical principles that underpin engineering practice.
• Support full‑time students and apprentices to achieve their qualifications.
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and record outcomes.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and local employers to ensure outstanding learner outcomes.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Fabrication & Welding or a closely related discipline.
• Recent industry experience in fabrication and welding.
• Passion for developing others and sharing industry knowledge.
• Teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
