Fabrication Workshop Manager

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fabrication Workshop Manager to lead operations within a busy manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for overseeing fabrication activities, ensuring high-quality production, and driving efficiency across the workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily fabrication and production activities to meet delivery schedules.
• Coordinate welding, fabrication and assembly operations and monitor workflow.
• Allocate labour and resources, drive productivity improvements and manage KPIs.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of fabricators, welders and operatives, including briefings and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conduct risk assessments and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Guarantee that all work meets engineering specifications, carry out inspections and support quality-control processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements, support lean manufacturing and reduce downtime and waste.
• Maintain fabrication equipment, coordinate preventative maintenance and manage tooling, consumables and material requirements.
• Liaise with engineering, planning and production teams, providing progress updates and supporting capacity management.

Required profile

• Strong background in fabrication and welding within a manufacturing environment.
• Previous supervisory or management experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of MIG welding and structural fabrication.
• Experience managing production schedules and KPIs.
• Strong leadership capabilities.

What we offer

• Salary £30 k – £40 k depending on experience.
• Full-time hours: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
