Fabricator – R&D Product Development

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Fabricator to join the Research & Development team of our client. The role involves building, testing and approving new systems, hardware and product prototypes, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards before release.

Key responsibilities

• Build, evaluate and approve new systems, hardware, profiles and product developments.
• Collaborate with the Systems Design Technician and Design Department to test and validate new products.
• Fabricate products for in‑house and external testing, including prototype construction.
• Attend and witness testing at external facilities and document results.
• Maintain and update the company Knowledge Base and related technical systems.
• Support design and approval of new tooling and manufacturing methods.
• Review technical manuals for accuracy and provide feedback to the Design Department.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues on new products and systems.
• Complete documentation and administration for new product approvals.
• Assist with fabrication and installation of exhibition and demonstration stands.
• Liaise with suppliers to source prototypes and coordinate testing.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fabrication and prototype construction.
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and product documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality standards.
• Organisational and administrative competence.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
