Facade Designer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facade Designer to join a leading aluminium curtain‑walling, windows and doors specialist in Braintree, Essex. Reporting to the Technical Design Manager, you will create accurate, compliant design solutions for projects ranging from £100k to £4 million, supporting the full project lifecycle from concept to issue.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Interpret architectural drawings and project specifications.
• Ensure designs meet system supplier requirements, UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
• Liaise with Project Managers, site teams and clients throughout the design process.
• Manage drawing revisions, approvals and attend hand‑over and client meetings.
• Provide technical support and respond to queries during project delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a designer in the windows, doors or curtain‑walling sector.
• Familiarity with at least one aluminium system such as Kawneer, Schueco or Metal Technology.
• Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and British Standards.
• Experience working for a specialist contractor or subcontractor is desirable.
