Facilities Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to join the site engineering and maintenance team of a high‑tech manufacturing business. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will ensure plant, facilities and production equipment operate safely and efficiently, delivering both planned and reactive maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across plant and facilities.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Support basic electrical fault finding and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work complies with health & safety and statutory requirements.
• Manage preventative maintenance schedules and accurately record completed work.
• Work with external contractors and service providers as required.
• Support continuous improvement projects and implement engineering best practices.
• Participate in an on‑call rota for out‑of‑hours breakdown support.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical maintenance background.
• Basic electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial or production environment.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a maintenance team.

What we offer

• Basic salary £35‑£40k per year plus a 30% shift allowance.
• Shift pattern: 7:30 am‑5:30 pm, 5 days on, 3 days off.
