Facilities & Estates Operative

About the role

We are seeking a Facilities & Estates Operative to maintain and improve outdoor communal spaces across our estates in Lancashire. You will ensure that pathways, gardens and shared areas are clean, safe and attractive for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine cleaning of external communal areas using hand tools, power tools and appropriate chemicals.
• Remove graffiti, fly‑tipped waste and other litter from the estate.
• Perform minor repairs and deep‑cleaning tasks in gardens and communal properties.
• Keep footpaths free from hazards and obstructions.
• Follow health and safety procedures, use PPE correctly and dispose of waste safely.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence.
• Practical experience in a cleaning or caretaking service.
• Ability to operate cleaning and waste‑management equipment safely.
• Good knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and site‑specific safety rules.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
