Facilities Maintenance General Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Facilities Maintenance General Assistant to support the smooth delivery of maintenance services at our client’s principal venue in Westminster. You will work closely with the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the building operates efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor with day‑to‑day building maintenance.
• Maintain over 90% PPM compliance and coordinate reactive works.
• Oversee contractors through the facilities management system.
• Perform PAT testing, water hygiene checks, basic electrical and plumbing tasks.
• Carry out painting, decorating and fire system support activities.
• Keep accurate records, monitor stock levels and respond to client enquiries promptly.
• Attend operational, health and safety meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in maintenance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of health & safety, building regulations and environmental standards.
• Proficiency with maintenance software and tools.
• Desirable: electrical/plumbing qualification, painting experience, water hygiene record‑keeping knowledge.
