Facilities Manager

About the role

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of property assets, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting business objectives. This role oversees maintenance activities, contractor performance, stakeholder relationships, budgets, and estate improvement projects to create a safe and high‑performing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a facilities team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure delivery of all hard FM services in line with contractual requirements, SLA targets and compliance standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, supply‑chain partners and key stakeholders.
• Manage annual budgets, financial performance and cost controls to meet profitability targets.
• Monitor performance of planned preventative maintenance and reactive works.
• Oversee contractors and specialist suppliers, including tendering, onboarding, RAMS reviews and permit‑to‑work processes.
• Promote a strong health, safety and Zero Harm culture, meeting all compliance obligations.
• Produce regular operational and performance reports for clients and senior leadership.
• Lead project work from initiation through to successful completion.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Facilities Management, Building Services Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in facilities management, contract management or account management.
• Strong leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Experience managing maintenance services, contractors and supply chains.
• Excellent financial, budgeting and commercial management capabilities.
• Strong communication, presentation and report‑writing abilities.
