Facilities Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to run the day‑to‑day operations of a busy mixed‑use building in South West London. The building hosts educational spaces, residential units and commercial event areas, requiring a hands‑on approach to safety, efficiency and visitor experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the building and its facilities, coordinating planned and reactive maintenance.
• Manage external service providers such as cleaning, catering, security and other contractors.
• Conduct regular building inspections, risk assessments and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety and building regulations.
• Maintain stock levels, order consumables and control the facilities budget, identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Lead front‑of‑house staff, produce rotas, recruit, train and review performance.
• Support event and commercial activities, handling room bookings, layouts, AV equipment set‑up and liaising with finance on pricing and invoicing.
• Act as a First Aider and coordinate emergency procedures, fire drills and water‑hygiene programmes.

Required profile

• Proven facilities‑management experience in a commercial, residential, hospitality or mixed‑use environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and internal operational teams.
• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and building compliance requirements.
• Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
