Facilities Manager – Multi‑site Operations

About the role

This position supports the daily operations of a multi‑site business, primarily based at the Bishop's Stortford site with regular travel to other locations. The role is ideal for a proactive problem‑solver looking to develop a long‑term career in facilities management within a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support compliance across sites, including inspections, record‑keeping and health & safety programmes.
• Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and perform basic maintenance tasks as required.
• Diagnose electrical or mechanical faults and coordinate appropriate specialist assistance.
• Log and manage reactive maintenance requests via the help‑desk system to ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate contractors on site, managing access, permits and basic compliance checks.
• Act as first point of contact for occupiers, resolving facilities queries.
• Implement energy, water and waste reduction initiatives in line with ESG targets.
• Support budget tracking, reporting and sustainability initiatives across the portfolio.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities management or a strong electrical/mechanical background.
• Practical, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• BMS (Building Management System) knowledge.
• Understanding of mechanical systems.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) experience.
• Help‑desk system usage for maintenance logging.
