Facilities Operations Manager

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Facilities Operations Manager to ensure our private fertility clinic runs safely, efficiently and in full compliance with healthcare regulations. You will be the backbone of the site, coordinating maintenance, safety and vendor activities while supporting a high‑quality patient experience.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance across the premises, scheduling work to minimise disruption to patient care.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors and service providers, maintaining accurate contract records and performance logs.
- Supervise servicing and repair of office and laboratory equipment and keep an up‑to‑date asset register.
- Support laboratory environmental requirements and respond to critical alarms.
- Lead health‑and‑safety initiatives, conduct risk assessments and promote a strong safety culture.
- Develop business‑continuity plans and ensure compliance with CQC/HFEA and other regulatory bodies.
- Provide administrative support and manage procurement to keep operations seamless.
- Control the facilities budget and produce regular reports on compliance and supplier performance.
Required profile
- Proactive, detail‑oriented professional with facilities or operations experience in a regulated healthcare environment.
- Proven ability to manage vendors and contractors efficiently.
- Hands‑on maintenance experience and solid knowledge of health‑and‑safety legislation.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with the capacity to juggle multiple tasks.
- Budget management experience and a calm demeanour under pressure.
- Willingness to achieve IOSH Managing Safely certification during the probation period.
Required skills
- IOSH Managing Safely certification (or willingness to obtain).
- NEBOSH certification (desirable).
- Knowledge of cryogenic storage and controlled laboratory environments (desirable).
- Familiarity with CQC/HFEA regulatory requirements (desirable).
