Facilities Operative – Maintenance & Site Support

About the role

The Facilities Operative will join a growing manufacturing business in Oxfordshire, ensuring the site, equipment and external areas remain safe, clean and fully operational. This permanent position involves both planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the depot.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and basic repairs on buildings, equipment and external areas.
• Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
• Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues as directed.
• Monitor site services and equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Conduct daily site checks, keyholder duties and shutdown procedures.
• Assist with waste management, site cleanliness and safety checks.
• Support contractor activities and maintain tools in good condition.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours response team when required.

Required profile

• Experience in a maintenance or hands‑on environment.
• Basic understanding of health & safety practices.
• Physically capable of manual tasks such as lifting and bending.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

What we offer

• Competitive salary £27,000‑£30,000 per year, DOE.
• Monday‑to‑Friday, 7 am‑3 pm schedule.
