Facilities Technician

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and reliable Facilities Technician to join our Education Provision team in Salisbury. You will be responsible for maintaining buildings, grounds, equipment and overall facilities to ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks across buildings and grounds.
• Lead minor repairs, refurbishment projects and site improvement works.
• Maintain a rolling programme of decoration, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Manage waste disposal, litter clearance and replenishment of site consumables.
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors, ensuring safe and efficient completion of work.
• Act as a key holder, manage site opening/closing procedures and monitor security systems, alarms, gates and access controls.
• Support health and safety by conducting inspections, risk assessments and fire‑safety equipment checks.

Required profile

• Practical experience in building and facilities maintenance.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality facilities services within an educational setting.
• Willingness to respond to site call‑outs and work across multiple sites.

• Competitive hourly rate of £17‑£18.
