Family Associate Solicitor

About the role

Our client, a top‑tier family law team within a Legal 200 firm, is seeking a motivated Family Associate Solicitor to join their expanding Southampton office. The role offers the chance to manage a diverse caseload of privately funded family matters while receiving mentorship from senior colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Handle a full spectrum of family law cases, including divorce, ancillary relief and private children matters.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing high‑quality, personalised advice.
• Work collaboratively with senior solicitors, receiving supervision and mentorship.
• Contribute to business development activities and networking events to grow the practice.

Required profile

• 4–8 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in family law.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a private, financially funded caseload.
• Strong commercial awareness and commitment to client service.
• Willingness to engage in business development and networking.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of divorce, ancillary relief and private children law.
• Excellent case management and organisational abilities.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
