Family Nurse (FNP) – Liverpool

About the role

The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) team in Liverpool is recruiting for 1.0 WTE and 0.8 WTE Family Nurse posts. Successful candidates will join a preventive home‑visiting programme that supports vulnerable young mothers from conception until the child is two years old.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the intensive FNP home‑visiting programme to first‑time mothers aged 19 or under and care leavers up to 24 years.
• Use structured clinical methods to improve pregnancy outcomes, child health and parental life‑course goals.
• Provide therapeutic support to families, promote behaviour change and coordinate integrated care for children with additional needs.
• Lead locally on quality assurance, supervision and fidelity of the programme.
• Collaborate with statutory and mainstream services to facilitate access to wider health and support resources.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with experience in community or maternal‑child health.
• Willingness to travel across Liverpool and neighbouring boroughs.
• Flexibility to work outside core hours to meet client needs.
• Commitment to attend external residential FNP training (3‑5 November 2026).

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Family Nurse Partnership programme and its clinical methods.
• Ability to conduct home visits and deliver structured interventions.
• Competence in reflective supervision and continuous professional development.
