Family Solicitor – Barnet

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Family Solicitor to join our expanding Family team in Barnet. The role offers exposure to a wide range of privately funded and legal‑aid family matters, allowing you to manage your own caseload while contributing to the growth of the department.

Key responsibilities

• Manage care proceedings and Private Law Order (PLO) matters
• Advise on private children‑law cases
• Handle domestic abuse, non‑molestation and occupation order applications
• Oversee divorce and financial‑remedy matters
• Provide counsel on cohabitation disputes and broader family‑law issues
• Undertake advocacy work as required

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with at least 3 years post‑qualification experience
• Proven experience across family and childcare law
• Strong understanding of legal‑aid procedures
• Willingness to undertake advocacy or existing advocacy experience
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Business‑development mindset with capacity to generate new work
