Family Support Worker – Barnet (Temporary, £15‑£18 per hour)

About the role
The Family Support Worker will provide direct assistance to vulnerable children and young people in Barnet, helping them develop resilience and positive coping strategies. Working closely with families, schools, social workers and health professionals, you will contribute to safe and supportive environments for service users. This temporary, part‑time position offers flexible hours to suit your availability.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one‑to‑one and group support to children and families, focusing on emotional wellbeing and life skills.
- Collaborate with schools, social services and healthcare teams to coordinate care plans.
- Conduct risk assessments and uphold safeguarding and child‑protection procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress reports.
- Adapt support approaches to different settings, including homes, community centres and schools.
Required profile
- Minimum six months experience in a child or youth support role.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Ability to work flexibly across various settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
