Family Support Worker

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Family Support Worker to join the Short Breaks Service at Croxteth Children’s Centre in Liverpool. The role involves working directly with vulnerable children and their families to ensure they receive the right support and interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Complete Short Breaks assessments and carers’ needs assessments.
• Undertake short break reviews and manage requests for care and support.
• Capture and reflect the child’s voice in all assessments and reviews.
• Signpost families to appropriate services, Family Hubs and community resources.
• Participate in the team’s duty rota.
• Support families in establishing routines, boundaries and positive parenting approaches.
• Assist with communication plans and positive behaviour support strategies.
• Collaborate with children, families and multi‑agency professionals to improve outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families.
• Strong assessment, communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and professionals.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Required skills

What we offer

• £22.00 per hour (umbrella), 35 hours per week, Monday‑Friday.
• Immediate start.
