Fast Track Liability Handler – Litigation Specialist

About the role

Keoghs LLP is seeking a Fast Track Liability Handler to manage litigated motor claims for key insurer clients and the Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB). The role involves providing strategic legal advice, drafting documents, and overseeing case progression from inception to resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Review files and adhere to client guidelines.
• Apply knowledge of litigation, CPR Rules and court procedures to formulate case strategy.
• Draft reports, legal documents and ensure compliance with court orders and deadlines.
• Monitor claim spend against fee structures (fixed or hourly).
• Negotiate with third‑party solicitors and liaise with insured parties, insurers and brokers.
• Manage court hearings and delegate tasks to paralegals.
• Record time, process bills and maintain ISO 9001‑compliant files.
• Ensure compliance with SRA standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling Fast Track RTA litigated files.
• Ability to manage own caseload and produce clear reporting.
• Understanding of indemnity principles and MIB processes.
• Familiarity with various insurer classifications (contractual, RTA, Article 75).
