Fast Track Limitation File Handler

About the role

The Fast Track Limitation File Handler works within the Volume Motor Litigation Unit, handling Motorist Own Justice (MOJ) and OICP claims that have reached limitation. The role involves managing a dedicated caseload, providing guidance to junior team members, and supporting key insurer clients as defendants.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of MOJ and OICP limitation claims, ensuring court deadlines are met.
• Analyse evidence to develop initial case strategies and assess quantum.
• Conduct telephone negotiations with clients, defendants, insurers and solicitors to achieve settlements.
• Proof witnesses, assess evidence and draft statements.
• Prepare court documents and meet all filing deadlines.
• Instruct and liaise with counsel, and attend court telephone hearings.
• Maintain accurate case, billing and management records in line with ISO 9001 standards.
• Delegate tasks to team members where appropriate and adhere to service level agreements.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling a personal caseload of motor litigation claims.
• Background as a Fast Track litigator with knowledge of limitation issues.
• Ability to mentor junior handlers and work autonomously.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to court deadlines.
